Oscar-winning actress and single mother Sandra Bullock has been voted Favorite American in the poll conducted by PopEater and The Insider to mark 2010 Independence Day.
Over 163,000 votes were cast in two polls to choose the favorite American and the American voters were most ashamed of.
Newly-divorced Sandra Bullock has scored 63% of the total vote coming ahead of Oprah Winfrey (#2, 24%), Twilight star Kristen Stewart, actress Angelina Jolie and pop culture extravagance Lady GaGa.
The second poll named the most embarrassing Americans. Guess who topped the list? Former couple and reality stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt came first scoring 37% of the total vote.
Tiger Woods ended up second with 33%, he was followed by Jon Gosselin (15%), Jesse James and John Mayer.
